My favorite shopping areas
El Corte Inglés
El Corte Inglés is one of the largest department stores in the world, where you can find literally just about everything. From fashion and cosmetics till electronics and furniture, they’ve got it all. You can also enjoy various dining options and there’s a large supermarket where you can buy fresh product and other groceries.
ShoppingTip: The store is located at the bustling central square, called Plaça de Catalunya. From here it’s an easy walk to the luxurious Passeig de Gràcia, the popular Portal de l’Angel, and the well known Las Ramblas. In the old town district you’ll find many boutique stores.
Passeig de Gràcia
Passeig de Gràcia is the ultimate street for luxury shopping. Here you’ll find all the big names like Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Gucci, along with numerous jewelry stores. The long and broad promenade is lined with stunning architectural gems, including works by Antoni Gaudí, and there are also various dining spots. All together makes Passeig de Gràcia definitely worth a visit.
GaudíTip: Walk down the street and admire two of Gaudï’s masterpieces, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera). Note: Look down, the hexagonal paving stones, called panot Gaudí, were also designed by the architect himself.
Portal de l'Angel
One of the best shopping areas is the wide pedestrian street Portal de l’Angel. Here you’ll find populair international brands like ZARA, Mango, H&M and Bershka. Also a plus is that most of the stores in this area stay open until the evening, so you can shop till you drop!
Boutique stores
You’ll find charming boutique shops nestled in the narrow medieval streets of Barcelona’s neighborhoods: Barri Gòtic, El Born and El Raval. These areas are perfect for a leisurely stroll and marveling.
Make sure to check out the unique home and fashion store S’Oliver, located on Carrer dels Banys Nous. This street is also home to several antique shops, vintage clothing stores and old bookshops. Have fun exploring!
